Nursery “Shower.” TODAY! SEPT. 12, 2:00-4:00 p.m. It’s a come-and-go shower for all church members. We want everyone to have an opportunity to see the new area. There’s a registry set up at Target, where you can

Deacon’s Meeting will be TODAY, Sunday, Sept. 12, 7:15 p.m. in the FLC Parlor.

40 Days for Life. Sept. 22-Oct. 31, our community will join the largest and longest coordinated pro-life mobilization in history-the 40 Days for Life campaign. 40 Days for Life is a focused pro-life effort that consists of 40 days of prayer and fasting, of peaceful vigil (in front of Lake Jackson Intermediate) and of community outreach. The prayer is that this effort, with God’s help, will mark the beginning of the end of abortion in America. Sign up at www.40daysforlife.com/lakejackson.

MUSIC & WORSHIP MINISTRY
Celebration Choir rehearsals have begun. We meet on Wednesdays from 6:15 – 7:45 pm in the choir suite located on the second floor just behind the sanctuary choir loft. We are always looking for new faces. If you are interested, you are invited to come and check it out.

Fuel Band will lead worship this Sunday, August 12. Sound check and service run-through rehearsal will begin at 5:00 p.m. Please arrive early and be ready so that we can make the most of the time we have.

Basic Praise and Extreme Praise Children’s choir
rehearsals begin tonight from 4:45 – 5:45 p.m. Basic Praise rehearsal room is located in the children’s area
(B-building). Extreme Praise Choir will rehearse on the second floor of the C-Building.

Celebration Orchestra rehearsal is scheduled for this
afternoon in the worship center from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. Celebration Orchestra will rehearse September 12, 19, and Wednesday September 22. CO will play in the worship service on Sunday morning, September 26. For more information, please contact either Terry Pearce or the Music office of the church.

Resounding Praise is searching for others who would like to join. No audition is required to participate. Rehearsals are Sunday afternoons from 4:45 – 5:45 p.m. If you have a desire to be part of this ensemble, please contact Mona Gallion, Resounding Praise Hand Bell Director at (979) 285-8804.

STUDENT MINISTRY (Grades 7-12)
True Love Waits Weekend Retreat is Saturday, Sept. 25, 8:00 a.m. through Sunday, Sept. 26, 12:00 p.m. in Palacios (we will return for Sunday School on Sunday). Note this is a slight change in date. Cost of $40 includes meals, a night’s lodging, recreation, transportation, and lesson materials. See You at the Pole. The annual nation-wide
student-led prayer event at the flagpoles of local schools will be Wednesday Sept. 22—typically around 7:00 a.m. Check with your school’s student organizers on the exact time.

Square One. Our next scheduled time is Monday, Sept. 20, 7:00-8:30 p.m. Come to Brad and Kelly’s home for a Bible study like no other. You pick the subject and you bring your questions as we explore God’s Word for the answers. Snacks provided.

Sept. 19 SNAC. Road Gamers come to church. It’s a fun night of laser tag in parking lot with obstacles & cool guns. A giant decked-out moving van has big screen, multi-player video games (up to 20 players!) Worship attendance required for the $5 ticket and participation.

CHILDREN & PRESCHOOL MINISTRY
KidzCity Children’s Church (Kind.-4th Graders) will begin this Fall on Oct. 3 and continue the first
Sunday of each of the following months: Nov., Dec., Feb., March, April and May. KidzCity will again meet in the gym immediately following the children’s sermon in the main worship service. Please contact the Childhood Office to sign your child up, or to volunteer to help out.

Parent Talk is a new ministry starting this fall for all parents of kids and teens. It will be a great place to connect with other parents and an opportunity to learn from some more experienced parents. Our times together will be on Sundays-Oct. 3, Nov. 7, Dec. 5, Feb. 6, and March 6 at 12:00 noon. We will have a book study, fellowship, discussion, mentorship, etc. Lunch will be provided. Childcare will be provided (please bring a lunch for kids). Please contact Cindy to sign up by Sept. 24 and contact Kristin with questions.

Upward Basketball registration is underway. You may sign your child up online this year at www.fbclj.org or pick up a brochure from the church office. Coaching
