Missionary Speakers.  TODAY, we will have the privilege of hearing from our missionaries that are currently staying in our missionary house. Rick and Bonnie have served overseas in Central Asia for 21 years (Rick) and 16 years (Bonnie).  They have been involved in church planting and various administrative roles during their years of ministry.  They are currently on their stateside assignment until the end of April 2015.  They are very excited to be with their home fellowship during their time in the U.S. 
Advent Schedule. Church-wide Wed. night fellowships will begin at 6:15 p.m. in the FLC.  Wed. Dec, 3, 10 and 17.  This includes children, youth and prayer meeting activities.  Choir and Praise Band will continue to meet at their regularly scheduled times.  For more information regarding the Advent Schedule, see the bulletin insert.   
Ministry Needs.  Pastor Frank Moreno of Iglesia Bautista La Fe of Clute, has been hospitalized for quite some time.  The family has many unplanned expenses and could benefit from a love offering.  You may give a financial gift to the Frank Moreno Family by designating your contribution to FBCLJ/Christian Helper Fund Moreno Family. 
Business Meeting. Sun., Dec. 7, 2014, 7:00 p.m., Worship Center. 
Celebration Christmas Tree at the Welcome Center.  We are excited to add  a Celebration Tree to the Welcome Center this year.  We ask each family to bring  one or more Christmas ornaments to adorn the tree.  The ornament should represent Christ’s birth and have significant meaning to your Christian life. Your ornaments can be left at the Welcome Center or the Church Office.
Part-time Kitchen Position.  Please contact the church office if you are interested in a part-time position working in our kitchen on Wednesdays. 
IMPORTANT 2014 CONTRIBUTION NOTICE. Your year-end tithe and offering must be received by the church or postmarked on or before midnight December 31 to be deductible on your 2014 Income Tax Return. Contributions may be placed after 4:30 p.m. Mon., Dec. 31 in the deposit box outside the Yaupon office entrance. Because it takes several days for the proceeds from stock contributions to reach the church, please make those types of gifts as early as possible. This will help the church acknowledge all of your contributions in a timely manner.
Holiday Office Hours.  The church office will be closed for the Christmas Holidays beginning Mon., Dec. 22 and will re-open on Mon., Dec. 29, 2014 The office will be closed on Thurs., Jan. 1, 2015, New Year’s Day and re-open on Fri.., Jan.  2, 2015.
Serve U “Fixer Upper” Team. Our brand new Serve U team is now functioning and awaiting small home maintenance projects from those in our church and community who otherwise could not afford the work. Please contact Brad Dawson or Billy Shepard with inquiries.
Here are the general guidelines:
No more than 6 hours to complete a project; Most projects conducted on Friday evenings and/or Saturday mornings; The team will not accept more than 2 projects a month, so a waiting list may be instituted; Small projects only that may be subject to a project budget that will be determined by team; No home improvement/remodeling projects, only maintenance or repair.

Our Music Ministry will present a special celebration of Christ’s birth on Sunday, December 14 in the morning worship service.  You will not want to miss this special time of worship and the true Spirit of Christmas. 
Help needed!  Our television and media ministries help us communicate the Word with our congregation, our community, and the world.  We have filled some of our  open positions, but still have a need for a sound operator and a remote camera operator.  If you have any experience, or would like more information about what these ministry areas entail, please contact Bro. Upward Basketball & Cheer Practice Begin This Week! The starting December 1, all team will begin practice. If you have not heard from your coach, please contact Brad Dawson.
Disciple Now February 6 - 8, 2015.  DNOW at FBCLJ is a place where lives of students can be dramatically impacted.  The weekend is packed with rich teaching of the scriptures and students are presented with practical tools necessary to live a Godly life.  Registration is underway now with a cost of $55 per student. 
Scholarships are available and unchurched friends attend FREE!  Registration forms are in the Youth Central boxes or you may contact the church office. 
The Anchor.  We will be participating in the special church-wide Wednesday night activities for the month of December.  The Anchor will start back on Wednesdays, 6:15 p.m., 3rd Floor, January 7, 2015. 
COLLEGE & CAREER (Ages 18-25)
Passion 2015.  Passion exists to see a generation stake their lives on what matters most.  More than a conference.  More than an event.  Say yes to the One whose name is above every name.  Come. Join Us.  January 30 - February 1, 2015. Toyota Center, Houston.  18 - 25 year olds (Seniors and College Students).
College Bible Study and Fellowship. Join us on Tues. evening for Bible Study and fellowship at 7:00 p.m. at the home of Cody & Jordan Mather, 108 Austin’s Ct.
Women on Mission will meet Tuesday, December 2, 9:30 a.m. for tea with Grace in the FLC followed by missionary speaker, Bonnie, who is currently living in our missionary house.  Sewing Classes. Please join us on Thurs. mornings, 9:00 a.m. - Noon in the FLC Craft Room to work on various sewing projects. Please contact Patti Huffines or Bobbie Kidwell with questions.
